About
Life isn't all strawberries and roses
CrapDrop is a street full of pigeons and each one carries somebody's complaint. You bop a pigeon to read a stranger's rant, then send off one of your own. No account, no likes to chase, no algorithm.
Why it exists
It started with CatchABird, a lovely site (not ours) that asks one question: what made you happy today? We loved it and it got us thinking about the other half.
Nobody has a great day every day. Sometimes people drive you insane with annoying habits, your flight gets cancelled at the gate, or somebody microwaves fish in the office. A happy-notes site isn't the place for that and it shouldn't be. CrapDrop is the other half: a place to get it off your chest and drop it on a stranger's windshield, then find out that people all over the world are annoyed by the same things you are. Oddly enough, that helps too.
Venting is fine. Being cruel is not. Every complaint goes through a quick check for slurs and abuse before it flies and anyone can flag one that slips through.
How we built it
We're a tiny team. CrapDrop went from an empty folder to a live site in one to two days. Most of the code was written by a crew of AI coding agents working in OctoAlly Pro while we did the deciding, testing and complaining (fittingly).
It works a bit like a small dev shop:
- We describe what we want in plain words, like "the seagull should steal credits and you get them back if you tap it in time".
- One agent researches how the code works now, another breaks the job into steps, and developer agents build those steps one at a time.
- Every change can be reviewed by a human or AI before it goes in.
Under the hood it's deliberately boring: the whole game is a single HTML file with no framework. Behind it are a small Node server (Fastify) and Postgres on one cheap virtual server with Cloudflare in front.
It wasn't magic. Agents still had to be direct and we sent plenty of work back. But the gap between "wouldn't it be funny if…" and "it's live" got very short, which is the only reason a site about complaints relayed through pooping pigeons exists at all.
